Local donation ideas?
Someone have a special charity they know of?
Someone just want books and will help with postage?
I'll get around to cataloging my collection soon. Understand, its just a lot.

I've got a LOT of books. Most of them hardback in excellent condition complete with jackets. I have waaay more books than I have room for and next time I
move I don't want to go thru the work of packing them up again. Books are heavy. So How can I get rid of a lot?

If your in a small town the public Library will usually take them. We give them to them all the time.

Owww .. I wish I could drop by and rummage through your book collection, Kryu!
But yeah, try selling 'em at eBay. Or else I'm sure the local thrift shops will be happy to take 'em from you.

You could always send them to the troops. They love any and all reading material.

If you don't find a way to profit from the books, the American Association of University Women in your locality would welcome the books for their next book
sale. put "aauw book sale" and your town or next big city into google and i think you'll find them.
For instance, this would be the link for Warner Robins, Georgia http://aauwwrga.org/
I will love you forever, daughter mine. |

If you donate, get a receipt -- tax deduction!!
or you could give them to a hospital or nursing home, a few books to each in your area to keep in their waiting area or for patients |

Back home there are people that have "Mobile Libraries" They advertise in local papers & people who like books call them & they go out & either sell them or rent them as you would at a Video Library. And like some others said here what about nursing homes or hospitals?...Or even Kindergartens or schools?....You could even have a home business & have a Tax deduction on it!! Take care & be well One & all Pilot53 Melbourne Australia The Penal Settlement Currently in Milwaukee U.S.A. |

www.bookcrossings.com is a fun way to pass on books, but it takes more time than packing and moving them does
some used book stores that do trade-in's for credit are good places, esp if they allow you to "donate" your store credits to a "teacher/school" account

I'm like Wyrd...I'd love to dig through looking for Neil Gaiman.
We have a used bookstore in town too, so far I haven't been able to part with any of ours. If what you have is on the best sellers list of things they would pay you a good price to take them off your hands. Paperbacks and not so popular authors don't bring in as much. I think it would be interesting to sit down with somebook people and see what you've got and what they are worth. So you have any art books? |

Hmm ... wondered about that. Did you take your books with you, Kryu, to your parents?
Or did you find a way to get rid off 'em? Just curious, you know .. heh |
