Middlefaire is a smaller faire than Scarby or TRF it is only 3 weekends long each year and its fairly new.

Scarby 09 Dress Rehersal Weekend

Was a great afternoon. Lots of new building projects going on. Plus the actors were doing all their dress rehersals. Here are some pics of the human chess game. Cant wait to see it all put together next weekend. We talked with Sir Richard for a bit. Seems the parade route this year is going to be in reverse of what it has in years past. Openning weekend was a big success even given the very cold weather. Two new building have been added one is the royal feast hall which was very nice. They also added a new food ventor and there are a couple of new acts. They had a good first joust even with the wind making things difficult for the knights, hard to hit the rings when they are swinging in a 30 mph wind. Laim Hunter

Laim Hunter aka Kevin Zody passed away yesterday of a suspected heart attack. Kevin was the SASP sponsor of the acrhery tournament, a regular fighter at the chessmatch, and a great lane player. He was also a good friend and a fine archer who will be greatly missed.

Yes I know it is early still in 2008 but maybe if we make some plans almost a year out some of us might get to meet up at Scarby. As always I am open to other Faires in other places. This is a nice little faire to kick of the season for us Wisconsinites. This will be their third year. The first year was like a test, they'd said. They took in more than double at the gate than they expected. The following year, they tightened their restrictions on booth appearances.

A lot of the players/participants here are from the Bristol Ren Faire in Kenosha. They're the ones who said its a nice way to kick of faire season.

Linda and I made it to Scarby a wee bit behind schedule this past Saturdae (4-5-08). Had a moment tae meet the Good Sir Richard (RL Hammer) as they were preparing for the parade. At about 1 pm we made our way to the stick shoppe and Linda procured her a new walking stick. Then off tae see Cast in Bronze, he is always a favorite of ours.
